FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX)and the world’s largest express transportation company, has reachedanother milestone in its integration with , utilizing theunparalleled European road network to improve transit times forFedEx Intra-Europe Economy shipments.
FedEx Intra-European Economy parcel shipments are those deliveredwithin the EU within 2-5 business days, and are a vital service formany customers, particularly SMEs trading within Europe. Transittimes will improve on approximately 40% of the European lanes inthe countries where the service improvement is implemented. Thiscross-utilization of the combined FedEx Express and networks is amajor step towards full integration of the operations and deliversefficiencies as well as service benefits for customers.

The service improvement is currently being launched acrossGermany, United Kingdom, Benelux, Poland and Spain and willprogressively roll out across the rest of Europe throughout thefirst half of 2019. As a result, many customers will see fastertransit times and some may see co-branded drivers pick up ordeliver shipments, as more stations integrate. Tracking andshipping tools, customer support and invoicing will remain thesame, ensuring a consistent interface for customers.
Through integration with , FedEx Express has significantlyincreased its presence in the European market. ’s road networkoperates 55,000 weekly road trips, across more than 540 depots and45 countries in Europe. Prior to the acquisition, Europe FedExalready served 46 airports across the continent, and operated morethan 39 aircraft and more than 5,000 vehicles on the road.
